Treating Zambia’s Economic illness

Recently, it’s been nothing less than one perfect storm after another as far as dealing with issues that have ailed Zambia’s economy is concerned. Zambia has had to deal with debt default, the covid 19 pandemic, the cholera epidemic, mining sector underperformance and now energy and food deficits occasioned by the eects of climate change. Not to mention the impacts of geopolitical tensions such as the Russia-Ukraine war, which have persisted for a lot longer than would have been hoped.

Just as the debt restructuring process achieved notable milestones, the above factors have surfaced to drive higher living costs and business costs. The resolve of the citizens is being tested thoroughly.
